Colour us excited down at Tone Deaf HQ, because we’ve just gotten wind that one of our favourite albums of all time is being re-released in a deluxe 20th Anniversary Edition, which will see a fight between us of epic proportions when the promo copy arrives at the office – we all want it! In case you’ve been living under a rock for 20 years, Ride were one of the greatest bands of the 1990s, defining shoe gaze rock and giving us some of the best moments of dream filed rock n’ roll sound scapes ever.

On the 1st February 2011 Rhino Handmade will re-release Ride’s acclaimed first album with a two-disc  20th Anniversary Edition that comes with The U.S. Version Of The Album And The Today Forever EP, as well as the Unreleased Live Show From The Band’s First American Tour. The album comes with all bells and whistles and represents the high water mark of an era that is still currently rubbing off on some of Australia’s most acclaimed neo-shoegaze bands such as Lowtide, Dark Bells, The Laurels, The Go Roll Your Bones and The Demon Parade.

Between them, Andy Bell (who moved on to Oasis then Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye) Mark Gardener (guitar/vocals), Steve Queralt (bass), and Laurence “Loz” Colbert (drums) created some of the most amazing sonic guitar structures of the early 1990s and a generation of bands and fans are in debt to them.
