Rock. Paper. Scissors. Only one of these really reign supreme in the music world. And no, it isn’t scissors, as much as we love the Scissor Sisters.

Rock has been apart of our music consumption since the day we were born, and everyone these days has their favourite rocker that they simply adore.

Some faves of ours however have graced us with their talent and skill in more than one band, reappearing in our rock playlists in more than one form.

Here are 10 of our favourite rock legends who have been in more than one band.

1. Dave Grohl

The first person who comes to mind is good old Grohl. Appearing in not just two bands, but four. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Probot and Them Crooked Vultures all feature the talent and heartwarming stage presence of this rocker.

2. Slash

Slash has one of the most iconic looks in rock, being almost instantly recognisable. He appeared in Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, gifting his legendary skills to both bands. He also was the main event of small-time project Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.

3. Corey Taylor

Featuring in Slipknot and Stone Sour, Corey Taylor has proved himself to be an inimitable metal frontman, absolutely excelling at everything he sets out to do.

4. Maynard James Keenan

Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer. Doesn’t get any better than that really.

5. Gary Holt

Not just Exodus but Slayer as well. Imagine being apart of both of these bands and making a living from it.

6. Ronnie James Dio

An absolute indisputable legend who offered up his talents to Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio.

7. Joan Jett

Queen of Rock herself, Joan Jett, was apart of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and also The Runaways. God, she’s such a legend.

8. Jack White

As well as breaking barriers with his incredible run of solo albums, Jack White has appeared in The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.

9. Joe Perry

Hailing from Aerosmith and Hollywood Vampires, legendary guitarist Joe Perry has been at it since his early days.

10. Eric Clapton

An undeniable legend of our times, Clapton was known for his slew of incredible solo material, as well as being a member of The Yardbirds, Cream and Derek and the Dominos.
