This one looks like it might be a good giggle. The Tone Deaf crew got to attend the media call for a new Broadway musical which opens in Melbourne on April 9th. Entitled Rock of Ages, the musical is set amongst the cock rock of Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in 1987, when Poison, Guns n’ Roses and Motley Crüe ruled the roost and big hair and the requisite hairspray was tearing a hole in the ozone layer over LA.

Featuring songs by the likes of Poison, Starship, David Lee Roth, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Journey, Styx, Warrant and Joan Jett amongst many more, the show has earned rave reviews in New York amongst normally bitchy theatre critics. In Australia, it has a real indie twist, with former Sleepy Jackson member and now End of Fashion front man Justin Burford playing the male lead in his theatrical debut.
