Ruby Fields is undoubtedly to continue her major streak of success this year, having recently dropped her newest single, ‘Climate’.
Ask any Australian music-lover and they’ll likely agree that one of the fastest-rising names in the local music scene is Ruby Fields.
Having burst onto the airwaves with tracks like ‘I Want’ and ‘P Plates’ back in 2017, this stunning muso has just been going from strength to strength ever since.
With her debut EP being released last year, sold-out tours, an iconic Like A Version performance, and headline-worthy sets at the recent Laneway Festival, it’s all coming up roses for Ruby Fields right now.
Back in February though, Ruby Fields announced that she is set to release her next EP, Permanent Hermit, this May. Now, just a matter of weeks before the new set of tunes is unleashed, we’ve been blessed with yet another new single from the rising star.
Titled ‘Climate’, fans likely would have heard this one being played during Ruby Fields’ recent Laneway Festival sets.
Described as a “happier song”, Ruby notes that the new single is another taster of the good things to come.

“It’s been a heavy year for myself and the band, hence the release of ‘Dinosaurs’, and one of the only things that pulls our heads up is time away whether it’s camping together or going for dinner at a pub, or just talking to each other,” Ruby explained.
“It’s a happier song and I think we all needed a bit of that.”
Having been released earlier this week, ‘Climate’ is a classic banger from Ruby Fields, with endearing lyrics which feature soon-to-be iconic lines such as “We’ve driven out real far/Getting bogged and laughing at how fucked we are/Made a mad set up in my car/Let’s not let all of this get too hard“.
To celebrate the release of the new EP, Ruby Fields is hitting the road this May, playing an ever-expanding run of national dates that are selling out faster than you can say ‘Dinosaurs’.
“Insanely keen to get back on road for a proper tour with heaps of new songs and EP coming very soon,” Ruby explained. “Been a huge year already with Hottest 100, Like A Version and Laneway shows and can’t wait to crack on. Come watch a few eternally average losers and have a few with us.”
Pre-orders for Permanent Hermit are available through Ruby Fields’ website now. From CD, and vinyl releases, to shirts, totes, beanies, and bumbags, there’s everything a fan could ever ask for. Head along to the website now to place your order for what is bound to be the EP release of 2019.

Ruby Fields’ ‘Climate’ lyrics:
Oi, pass us the bug spray would ya?
I’m getting sick of being eaten alive
And chuck another beer over, could ya?
Pretty sure I’ve only had about five
A pretty nice arvo though, aye? Yeah mate, what a view
Had a belter of a day and I’m pretty burnt, how about you?
Darlin, did you bring the aloe vera?
You know my whiteness don’t do well in this climate
We’ve driven out real far
Getting bogged and laughing at how fucked we are
Made a mad set up in my car
Let’s not let all of this get too hard
You’re having an early dart
And God, don’t you look gorgeous
How’s this for a daily start?
You even look good when you’re yawning
Let’s go visit some hell old pub joints
With signs that have seen better days
I’ll pay with dirty pocket coins
We’ll have a few then be on our way
Darlin’, could you teach me to make a spark
I’ve never quite gotten the technique down
We’ve driven out real far
Getting bogged and laughing at how fucked we are
Made a mad set up in your car
Let’s not let all of this get too hard
We can take turns with the drive and
You can tell me how hard your life’s been
Don’t let any more mozzies in
Let’s just go to bed and zip up this stupid thing
