When we recently profiled RÜFÜS, or RÜFÜS DU SOL as they’re known to our friends over in North America, as part of our list of The Aussie Albums We Can’t Wait To Hear In 2016 we noted we hope their knack for writing catchy hooks carries over to the new LP.
2013’s Atlas may have been too indie for the dance kids and too dancey for the indie kids, but the one thing that was undeniable is the songs, which were left stuck in your head for days such that you found yourself bopping your head and tapping your feet just remembering them.
The first sign that things were looking good for their sophomore effort, Bloom, which is set to drop 22nd January, was ‘Like An Animal’, which the trio have now followed up with the equally silky ‘Say A Prayer For Me’.
Built on an undeniably catchy groove, ‘Say A Prayer For Me’ even features some powerful lyrics, as well as all the funky RÜFÜS-ian hallmarks we’ve come to expect from the three-piece. Check it out below.
