Ryan Adams is gearing up for a rather productive year, revealing he’s planning to release three new records in 2019.

Over the years, Ryan Adams has proven himself to be one rather prolific musician. From his time with Whiskeytown, to his solo work, barely a year has gone by in which he hasn’t released an album, EP, or single. Needless to say, he’s a bit of a musical machine.

In fact, last year, Adams teased the release of a whole bunch of long-lost projects, while also noting that he had “four records on a shelf”. Soon, fans began to speculate that 2019 could be another banner year for the famed artist.

Back in 2005 though, Ryan Adams went through one of his most prolific periods to date. Between May and December of that year, Adams released Cold RosesJacksonville City Nights, and 29, with the first two credited to Ryan Adams and The Cardinals.

Now, it seems history is set to repeat.

Taking to Twitter recently, Ryan Adams revealed that 2019 is going be another big year. “Remember that year when I released 3 records,” he wrote, “Let’s do it again.”

Before long, Adams had unveiled the first of his trio of records, recruiting MSNBC’s Katy Tur to reveal that his first album will be titled Big Colors.

While not much else is known yet, Adams instructed his followers to check out The Washington Post’s ‘Power Up’ on Wednesday morning (US time) for more info.

Earlier today though, Politico’s Jake Sherman took to Twitter to help Ryan Adams reveal the title of his second album, titled Wednesdays.

Interestingly, the album cover bears a striking resemblance to that of Bruce Springsteen’s famed 1982 record Nebraska, which featured The Boss armed with little more than an acoustic guitar.

Back when Ryan Adams released his cover album of Taylor Swift’s 1989, he explained that he wanted to record the songs “like it was Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.” With these facts in mind, it looks like Wednesdays could be shaping up to be one of Adams’ most interesting works.

At this stage, it’s not clear who will be announcing the details of Ryan Adams’ third record, but given his track record, 2019 is on track to be a rather amazing year of music.
