He’s been a solicitor, comedian, author, actor, as well as a radio and television presenter, but now Shaun Micallef can add hardcore vocalist onto his ever-expanding resumé.

If you’re a fan of Shaun Micallef, you’re probably well aware that he casts a wide net when it comes to his talents. With countless television and radio credits to his name, in addition to a number of awards on his shelf, Micallef is something of a comedic Renaissance man at heart.

However, for those who might remember his work as David McGahan on Full Frontal, you’ll undoubtedly be delighted to learn that Micallef has a new documentary in the works.

Titled On The Sauce, the new doco looks to give an insight into the Australian drinking culture, and sees its host looking at a number of different subcultures around the country.

Last night though, the documentary took Micallef into the Melbourne suburb of Prahran, where he looked at straight edge culture by hosting a free show at the Brick And Mortar Supply store, featuring hardcore outfit Pure Instinct as the headlining act.

While attendees were told that they would be filmed for the free performance, footage has now emerged online of Micallef not only enjoying the show itself, but getting roped in to do some guest vocals.

As you can see, Shaun Micallef doesn’t shy away from the notion of singing lead on the track, but the sight of seeing a silver-haired, sharp-dressed man at the centre of a mosh pit undoubtedly gives off vibes of your uncle letting loose at Christmas dinner.

At this stage, it’s not clear when the new documentary is set to air exactly, or if Micallef’s guest spot out the front might receive a bit of focus when it does. However, there’s no doubting that we would pay good money to see the iconic comedian throw down the skramz at some point.
