One of the best parts of any festival announcement is the knowledge that soon organisers will be showering eager fans with rafts of sideshow announcements. The good folks behind Meredith Music Festival 2014 and St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015 have not disappointed, with dates from Jungle, Perfect Pussy, SOHN, Ratking, Factory Floor, and more just waiting for you down below.
Jungle Laneway Sideshows
Certifiably one of the biggest buzz bands of the year, UK electronic outfit Jungle made instant fans of crowds at Splendour In The Grass earlier this year and they’re now returning to capitalise on that momentum as part of Laneway Festival and two recently confirmed sideshows.
It’s been a massive twelve months for Jungle, having only played their first live show back in October 2013, the duo, who expand into a seven piece when touring, have since taken on audiences at Glastonbury, Reading, Lollapalooza, Splendour, and a huge list of headline shows, including a sold-out US tour.

Perfect Pussy Laneway Sideshows
One of the most highly anticipated acts of this year’s stellar crop of Laneway Festival bands, Perfect Pussy have announced they will be injecting their unique mesh of punk and noise rock menace into two Australian venues for headline shows this January.

SOHN Laneway Sideshows
Having been previously announced as part of the sublime roster set for St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015, London-raised, Vienna-based multi-instrumentalist and producer SOHN, real name Christopher Taylor, has announced he will embark on a short run of sideshows while in the country.
Back in April, SOHN released one of the most highly anticipated debut albums of the year, Tremors, and did not disappoint. From debut single ‘The Wheel’, which attracted praise from several prestigious outlets, to a solid year of gigging, including a stint at SXSW, SOHN has ensured that 2014 is his year.

Ratking Laneway Sideshows
Alongside SOHN and Perfect Pussy, one of the most highly anticipated Laneway Festival acts in 2015 will be Harlem hip-hop outfit Ratking. The anticipation is set to mount with the announcement that the group will embark on a short run of headline shows, with appearances set for Melbourne and Sydney.
Earlier this year, Ratking released their debut album, So It Goes, described as “a raw and daring collection of tracks which although [it] exerts creativity and uniqueness, has elements that pays homage to old school golden-era pioneers”.
