A Sietta Australian Tour 2014 has been announced in support of the pioneering duo’s brand new album.

Fresh from the release of their highly lauded second album The Invisible River, the Northern Territory twosome are set to hit to hit the road, taking their ‘nightbus tropicana’ sound to venues around the country.

Armed with James Mangohig’s army of bass, guitar, electronics, and Caiti Baker’s show-stopping voice, Sietta bring their album to life on stage. Acoustic or electronic, there is no other act in the country quite like this Darwin duo, who have been described by critics as “transcendental” and “Lorde for grown-ups.”

With vocals and lyrics that shift around meaningful, soulful subjects and creative production that mixes hip-hop’s risk-taking innovation with the stately soundscapes and grooves of RnB and soultronica, The Invisble River sees the Elefant Traks-signed Sietta demonstrating the full scope of their talents as well as “the way forward” according to Rolling Stone.

Album opener ‘Let It Go’ sets the tone beautifully, a gentle whisper that dreams in an unhurried sway, before detonating into a soaring chorus. From here there’s a connectivity in the drift between genres, their adoration of the ‘90s is on full show with the R&B of ‘Greener’ through to the cinematic sounds of ‘The Hunted’; while songs like ‘Carry’ and ‘Such Desire’ retain an edgy pop aesthetic.

Sietta’s Invisible River Tour begins this weekend, in the pair’s native Darwin, before heading to capital cities and regional areas alike, finishing up with a headline concert at Hobart’s Republic Bar in early May.

Be sure to catch one of Elefant Traks – and Australia’s – most distinctive duos, when Sietta hit your town.
