Booking and touring bands can be a tricky experience – tours get booked up to a year in advance and sometimes a band will blow up or die in the arse in the meantime. It looks like the promoters of Slash’s upcoming tour were unprepared for the massive demand to see ‘the second greatest guitarist ever after Jimi Hendrix’ in his upcoming tour.

Tickets for his shows at the Palace Theatre in Melbourne and the Enmore Theatre in Sydney were snapped up in just eight minutes, so the shows have been moved to bigger venues. While Axl Rose is finding Guns N’ Roses downgrading to smaller venues, Slash is moving up in the world.

He’ll now be playing at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Wednesday 11th of May, and Sydney’s Horden Pavilion on Monday 16th of August. Tickets already purchased are now valid for the new venues, while if you’re in Brisbane and don’t have a ticket – too bad. The Brisbane gig at the Tivoli is sold out. New tickets for Melbourne and Sydney go on sale at 9am Friday 21st May.
