Next week, Slipknot will finally unleash their forthcoming sixth record, We Are Not Your Kind. The band have heightened anticipation for the release by revealing that they have a slew of tracks that didn’t make the album cut.

In a new interview with Kerrang! Shawn “Clown” Crahan revealed that the recording process for the album spawned a bounty of tracks. The final tracklist for We Are Not Your Kind has 14 songs, but Clown revealed that there were an additional 15 songs that didn’t make the cut — eight of those tracks were in their complete form.

“Did we know that this was going to be the album? No. No one knows,” Clown shared. “There’s another 15 songs that didn’t make the cut — there’s at least seven or eight songs that are recorded, with vocals, that did not make this album. There’s so much material, but all that material whittled this down to its anomaly, and to its presentation.”

“Usually, you take your collection of records, and you make an album. So we have a bunch of records, and we have to basically decide which ones of those records can make up a thought process known as We Are Not Your Kind.”

There’s been no word as to whether Slipknot intend to release these tracks at some point, but we’re all hoping for a We Are Not Your Kind B Sides record.

Slipknot will be returning to Australian shores this September. The band are jumping on the Australian leg of Metallica’s WorldWired tour — tour information and ticket details below.
