Metal music plus tacos? Slipknot’s Corey Taylor seems to be a jack-of-all-trades, as he talks about opening a plant-based taco food truck alongside his wife Alicia Taylor.

Forget just knowing him as just as Slipknot’s vocalist, but prepare to know Corey Taylor as a taco food truck extraordinaire, as him and his wife spoke to Rock Feed about their (delayed due to COVID-19) food truck plans.

“It was basically a [plant-based] taco food truck,” Corey stated. “We can’t say vegan, ’cause there will be some dairy in there, but the main focus was flavor, not just content.”

“‘Cause when people talk about vegan, they can become very pretentious… For us, it’s just about, ‘Look, we’re fat-asses, man, we just wanna eat! We want some fucking food!’ This was a way for us to combine that with a healthier lifestyle.”

Apparently, the couple decided to eat a plant-based diet around August of last year, and Taylor’s wife Alicia says that the couple “saw the benefits immediately.”

“My cholesterol dropped, like, 80 points,” Corey exclaimed. “I was even trying to eat better, and yet my cholesterol wasn’t going anywhere,” noting that the drastic change in his cholesterol was “pretty rad.”

Luckily, we don’t have to worry about Corey or Alicia being the typical preachy vegans, as they’ve said they’re not keen on being “super annoying about it, ’cause that can turn a lot of people off.” They agreed that “it was just kind of a choice” they made for themselves.

Unfortunately, their plans seem to have been thwarted by the COVID-19 nonsense that continues to explode over America, and there’s no telling when we can get to try the delicious taco goodness that the Taylor’s are sure to come up with.
