While being awarded with Hero of the Year at the NME Awards, rapper slowthai took a pause to try and start a fight with a “fan” who called him misogynistic and provoked him from the safety of the crowd.

The 25-year-old rapper slowthai was on stage and halfway through his acceptance speech when an audience member tried to yell at him, which prompted the artist to throw the microphone in the heckling fan’s direction. slowthai then reportedly yelled out:

“Thank you for ruining my speech, thank you very much. Wasteman.” Someone in the audience threw the microphone back at the young rapper, along with a full glass, which is when you can see slowthai begin to get more aggressive. I mean, who wouldn’t be a little mad at getting things chucked at them.

slowthai then jumps into the crowd and attempts to brawl with the man, who you can see physically taunting him to come his way. You can also see host Katherine Ryan on stage, trying to cool the situation down from afar.

This isn’t the first wild thing we’ve seen from the rapper, as just a few months ago he spit in a fans mouth. With permission, of course.

The musician was reportedly called a ‘misogynist’ because he was ‘flirting’ with Katherine while accepting his award at the NME Awards show. Fans were quick to share what happened during his acceptance speech. One tweeted: ‘So slowthai just won hero of the year award. A kid shouted ‘misogynist’ at him (after the Katherine flirt) and he went mad. Kid threw mic at him. He threw drink and then tried to fight the crowd. I feel stressed.’ ‘Can’t believe slowthai won hero of the year and then got into beef and had to be taken out by security,’ another posted.

Before the incident, during his performance, the rapper launched himself into the crowd, made his way back to the stage to hitch up his Union Jack boxers, and then mooned the entire room. All in a days work for slowthai.
