The Smith Street Band are currently running across the country in support of their new album More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me, with Ceres along for the ride, and by all accounts it’s going pretty well.
For one fan in the front row, however, their Brisbane show was probably the single greatest fucking moment of his entire life – or definitely up there – as Wil Wagner chose to give away his guitar.
“Brissy night two was goddamn magical! Thank you everyone!! You make us feel very lucky! Hope you like the guitar Daniel!!” the band posted to socials tonight, name-dropping the very lucky fan. “Can’t wait for Melb this weekend (both Forum Melbourne shows now sold out)”
This has to be one of the nicest gestures we’ve seen from a band in recent memory, and the outpouring of emotion that follows is just lovely to watch, a wonderful reminder of how much a band and their music can mean to someone.
