A Snakadaktal Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, with the talented young five-piece playing headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney early next year to support the release of a new EP.

The Sun II EP will be released on 3rd January and features six previously unreleased tracks, including a radio mix of the current single of the same name, new track ‘East of Here’ and remixes of album singles from an array of talented producers and artists including Sydney favourite Hayden James and UK outfit Just Kiddin.

The remixes have all received widespread international acclaim and Hype Machine love, but now the Sun II release gives fans the opportunity to add the songs to their musical collections.

Following the EP’s release, the band will play one-off headline shows in Sydney, at the Oxford Arts Factory, and Melbourne, at Brunswick’s newest live music hotspot, Howler.

Both shows feature impressive line-ups. Appearing alongside Snakadaktal in each city will be local beat maker Kilter, who recently remixed Snakadaktal’s ‘Fall Underneath’ single (which appears on the new EP).

Additional support in Sydney will come from Castlemaine’s DD Dumbo, and in Melbourne, local artists Rat & Co and CHIEFS have the honours of opening.

This year has been a significant year for Snakadaktal, seeing the band release their debut LP Sleep In The Water and touring the country. With its dreamy soundscapes, lush harmonies and poetic lyrics, the album has impressed critics and fans alike, bringing forth a new and exciting chapter in Snakadaktal’s career as Sleep In The Water will be released in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Japan and South Korea next January.

Snakadaktal are also appearing as part of the live music lineup for the Australian Open 2014, at the Heineken Live Stage on Wednesday 15th January.

The Sun II EP is out locally on 3rd January (and available for pre-order on iTunes here). Tickets for the upcoming shows are available now.
