So that whole thing about Kryal Castle hosting a heavy metal festival didn’t work out. That’s okay, we still reckon the medieval-stlye castle, located in the Victorian town of Ballarat, would make a top-notch live music venue.

If only someone could buy it and do just that. Well, someone could. At least, that’s now in the realm of possibility, because as the Herald Sun reports, the castle is on the hunt for new owners following a multimillion-dollar makeover.

According to HS, the medieval theme park has been put on the market by its current owners, who bought it for $1.3 million back in 2012. Those folks invested millions in refurbishing the park and its facilities, including the four-star hotel rooms.

The park boasts 15 attractions, 17 accommodation suites, function spaces, and shops, and if we’re being cheeky, quite a bit of space that could be filled up by an amphitheatre, a stage, and maybe a few thousand people rocking out to a band.

According to real estate agents Colliers International, via Domain, the castle’s current owners reckon it’s the right time to sell. Kryal Castle has never done better, they say, and they want fresh blood to take the reins.

“Given the growth in visitation and buyer appetite, they now feel the time is right for a new owner to usher this unique property into its next phase,” agent Guy Wells told Domain. “Both local and offshore interest is already being fielded.”

Kryal Castle has hosted music events in the past, including rave parties and live bands, but had jettisoned such events in recent years to focus on a more family-oriented entertainment agenda.

We don’t know about you, but when people thought there was a rock festival heading to Kryal Castle, they went nuts. If three legends can save The Tivoli in Brisbane, there’s gotta be a music lover out there with a bit of cash to spend and dreams of owning a castle.
