Chicago rapper Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, has been accused of kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend, a woman identified as Kayla.

TMZ have reported that the alleged incident took place at 2:30 am on Saturday. Kayla has claimed that she attempted to leave Way’s Los Angeles home following an argument. As she attempted to back down his driveway she clipped the curb, which resulted in a confrontation between her and Soulja Boy’s assistant.

Kayla has alleged that Way consequently punched and kicked her. She claims that he took her inside his garage and tied her to a chair with an extension cord where she was held for six hours.

After she was released, Kayla filed a police report and went to a hospital. She was reportedly treated for three fractured ribs and a concussion. She was discharged later that night.

Law enforcement have stated that there is an “active investigation” into the kidnapping claims. Soulja Boy is currently in the midst of a five-year probation sentence for felony possession of an assault weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, dating back to 2017. He is yet to release a statement.

Last month, Soulja Boy accused Ariana Grande of ripping of the flow of his 2010 track ‘Pretty Boy Swag’ in her latest release ‘7 rings’. See the tweets below.
