US rapper Soulja Boy has been robbed of more than USD $600,000 in valuables while he was locked up in jail over probation violations.

Despite being one of the most prominent hip-hop artists of 2007, Soulja Boy has found himself in a few legal troubles in recent years.

While the rapper had been on probation ever since weapons charges from back in 2014, the 29-year-old was arrested just last month for violating his probation, sending him to jail in the process.

Now, it appears that some thieves have decided to make use of Soulja Boy’s currently-empty home, targeting it in a recent robbery.

As TMZ notes, law enforcement officials have revealed that the rapper’s Los Angeles home was targeted on Monday night, with thieves taking jewellery, cash, and a phone amongst other items.

The jewellery, which is said to consist of chains, earrings, and watches, is worth more than USD $500,000, while a further USD $100,000 was stolen from a safe in Soulja Boy’s room.

Strangely though, the story doesn’t end there, with reports of up to five people claiming control of Soulja Boy’s Instagram account, having gained access through his stolen phone.

It’s not clear whether or not those who stole the phone are aware of the rapper’s current incarceration, as a live video was recorded where one alleged thief can be seen asking for “a band” (USD $1,000) before the phone can be returned.

As TMZ also notes, Soulja Boy is yet to be informed of his burglary due to his current stay in jail, with his next hearing set for April 30th.

Of course, it’s relatively likely that police will catch up with the thieves before Soulja Boy gets out of the clink, with the faces of the robbers being plastered all over his Instagram account.
