Despite Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah’s insistence that the Victorian capital would be getting “fuck all” Sidewaves this year (due largely to the tragic loss of The Palace), the organisers have announced an incredible Sidewaves Extravaganza that will see a raft of incredible sideshows hitting Melbourne this month.
Kicking off Monday, 23rd February and continuing right through to Friday, 27th February, an absolutely kick-ass member of the Soundwave 2015 lineup, including The Treatment, Butcher Babies, Fucked Up, Animals As Leaders, The Swellers, This Wild Life, and The Aquabats, will be playing in Melbourne every single night of the week.

The performances will be going down at Melbourne’s beloved Ding Dong Lounge, located at 18 Market Lane in the CBD, and Melbourne’s home of hard rock, the Cherry Bar, which is located at 103 Flinders Lane. The festivities will kick off on the Monday with a performance from The Treatment at Cherry Bar, concluding with The Aquabats! at Ding Dong Lounge.
Meanwhile, Soundwave Festival is just around the corner, set to launch in Adelaide’s Bonython Park and the Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday, 21st February, featuring an immense lineup topped by Slipknot, Faith No More, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Soundgarden, and rounded out by the likes of Marilyn Manson, Incubus, and many more.
