Australia’s biggest electronic music and dance festival has gotten even bigger for its 2013 edition, expanding to two days for each of its five appearances in capital cities around the country. Now, the full Stereosonic 2013 lineup has dropped and shows just why that extra day was needed with its enormous list of DJs and EDM majors.
Taking place through late November and December, the two-day event sees David Guetta headlining a bill that contains huge international names like Armin Van Buuren, Calvin Harris and Rita Ora, as well as many Australia acts, led by the super-sized euphoric charge of Empire of the Sun (you can read the full lineup below).
Along with the big list of electronic acts also comes a bigger price tag, with ticket prices for the two-day Stereosonic 2013 set at $199.95 (+b/f). No one-day passes or camping is available for the event either so it’s all or nothing for the 2013 event.
Stereosonic 2013 kicks off simultaneously on Saturday 30th November and 1st December in Sydney and Perth at the Sydney Showgrounds and the Claremont Showgrounds (which local residents will be none too happy about considering their complaints over last year’s crowds being the “worst ever”).
Stereosonic then rolls into Adelaide’s Ellis Park, then overlaps with another simultaneous double act at the Melbourne Royal Showgrounds and Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds on Decemeber 7th and 8th.
The 2013 lineup drop follows news that Stereosonic promoters Totem Onelove is looking to be sold off for a whopping $75 million to SFX Entertainment, in a $1 billion expansion of the investment company’s electronic music portfolio.
The asset contribution agreement notes that Totem Onelove will sell for a combined figure from AUD$60 million in cash and AUD$ 15 million in company stock, with SFX having reportedly already made a AUD$5 million deposit on Totem on Wednesday 22nd May.
