Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris has admitted that he’s pretty confident that the group have got another album in them, as they get closing to wrapping up their current European tour.

Back in 2010, Iron Maiden released their 15th album, The Final Frontier. While many fans would have viewed this as an impressive feat, others looked towards an old interview with bassist Steve Harris in which he explained that the group only planned to do 15 albums before calling it quits.

Thankfully, after a five year gap, 2015 saw the release of The Book Of Souls, but any extended period of time between albums understandably leaves fans feeling nervous. However, they needn’t worry yet, with Harris assuring fans they’ve got at least one more record in them.

Speaking to Metal Hammer in the lead-up to the completion of their marathon European Legacy Of The Beast tour, Steve Harris maintained his confidence that the band will release a new record at some point in the future.

“We’ve got this cycle going on,” Harris explained. “I’m pretty damn sure we will do another album, and then all well and good, we’ll go out on tour to back that up.”

“How long that will go on for, I don’t know. We’ve been talking about this kind of thing for the last 20 years, but as time goes on, it becomes more of a reality that one day we may not be able to tour any more.”

“But I don’t want to think about that. You’ve got to enjoy the moment.”

While Iron Maiden haven’t got any tour dates planned past the middle of August, the group’s members won’t exactly be taking a rest, with frontman Bruce Dickinson set to tour Australia in October as part of his spoken word book tour.

Touring in celebration of the release of his autobiography What Does This Button Do?, Dickinson will hit up Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, and Brisbane this October before presumably flying Ed Force One back home to hopefully work on some new lyrics.
