Think nothing ever happens in Canberra except politicians boring us senseless? Well, most of the time that’s the case. However for one day at the end of October, Canberra is set to be the rock n’ roll capital of Australia with the University of Canberra’s Stonefest set to take place. On October 29th, the finest Aussie talent is set to tear up three stages as the 43rd Stonefest takes place across the grounds of the University.
On the Superstage, Oz rock icons Jebediah are set to headline a huge bill that also features The Grates, The Vines, Josh Pyke, Jonathan Boulet, Stonefield and Redcoats and local upstarts Crash The Curb; while the Purple Sneakers DJs are set to keep punters shaking their tail feathers between sets.
On the UC Refectory stage the beats are going to be thumping all day as Canberra kids The Aston Shuffle are set to be joined by Illy, Pez, Flight Facilities, Sampology, Diafrix, D’Opus and Roshambo, Dept of Defiance and Jemist keeping it hot, hot, hot; mixing it up between sets. On the Zierholz stage it’ll be the best of Aussie indie with Ball Park Music, Owl Eyes, Lanie Lane, Hunting Grounds, Big Scary, The Snowdroppers and The Bedroom Philosopher bringing all genres and heaps of fun to Canberra’s only day of the year where music fans can live like the rest of the country do!
