Rodger Hodgson, the co-founder and former frontman of Supertramp, is set to return to Australia next year, having announced a run of tour dates for 2019.
Back in the ’70s, it was almost impossible to be unaware of a Roger Hodgson-penned hit. Having co-founded Supertramp back in 1969, Hodgson and his bandmates spent the next 14 years crafting one of the most envied and celebrated musical careers of all time.
While the group managed to hit the Aussie charts with tracks such as ‘Dreamer’, ‘Give A Little Bit’, and ‘The Logical Song’, their tunes are still heard on radios and stereos all over the country.
While Roger Hodgson would leave Supertramp in 1983 to embark upon a solo career and to pursue a simpler lifestyle, his legacy and musical genius has lived on, especially thanks to the success of Supertramp’s 1979 album, Breakfast In America. Now, almost 40 years on from the classic record’s release, Hodgson is heading to Australia to celebrate with his legions of local fans.
Hitting up Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth in January and February of 2019, Roger Hodgson is set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic Breakfast In America with a series of shows that will illustrate just why he is one of the most revered singers and songwriters of all time.
Tickets to Roger Hodgson’s 2019 tour go on sale at 10am local time, on Tuesday, August 7th, with a pre-sale kicking off at the same time on Thursday, August 2nd.
With a legacy that would make most modern performers jealous, be sure not to miss the stellar return of Roger Hodgson to Aussie shores next year.
