Taylor Hawkins isn’t a fan of one of the past Foo Fighters singles – as he reveals to UK metal magazine Kerrang!

It seems Hawkins dislikes ‘The One’, which actually never appeared on a Fooeys album, having been recorded for the 2002 film Orange County – a Jack Black vehicle which was all but forgotten two years later, when Seth Cohen and co. snatched the O.C conversation away…bitch.

“I’ve always hated this song,” he admits “I hate the way it sounds, the production of it. It was a total cop out.”

It isn’t the best, we’ll admit – sounding like it was smashed out quickly, which it seems it was.

“We were really trying to finish One By One. I liked the messed-up ugliness of that record, but we got asked by Tom Hanks’ son Colin Hanks to do the song for this movie called Orange County.

“Dave wrote it, I wasn’t crazy about it. It was straight-up pop – and there’s nothing wrong with that – but we were still trying to figure out how to be the Foo Fighters.”

We can only assume he means with the current lineup – as ‘Everlong’ clearly showcases, Dave had figured out how to be the Foo Fighters years earlier.
