When it was revealed that Taylor Swift would be taking part in NPR’s Tiny Desk Sessions, my world damn near toppled off its axis.

Tiny Desk Sessions are a real bloody treat, I can’t think of a single live format I like more than their sessions. I’m not quite sure what makes witnessing artist’s perform stripped-back reimaginations of their songs in a cramped office corner so god damn magic, but it is. I certainly never anticipated going through this life witnessing Taylor Swift perform at a Tiny Desk Session, but the universe has gifted us with this performance and boy, is it stunning.

“Tiny Desk is like one of my favorite corners of the Internet,” Swift prefaced her performance with. “It’s an opportunity for artists to decide a different way to showcase their music.”

“So you’re kind of inundated by overwhelming opportunity and choices. I just decided to kind of take this as an opportunity to show you guys how the songs sounded when I first wrote them. ‘So it’s just me.'”

Swift made her way through Lover tracks ‘The Man’, ‘Death by a Thousand Cuts’, and ‘Lover’. She also treated us devoted Swifties to beloved Red deep cut, ‘All Too Well’. You can watch the performance below.

In related (and bizarre) news, NHL team the Los Angeles Kings have decided to blame Taylor Swift for their comparatively poor performance of late. The team made the decision to cover up a Swift banner at their home arena, as they believe it was bringing them bad luck.
