Tenacious D have unveiled a new documentary that delves into the most crucial meeting of musical minds in recent memory. During a recent Tenacious D show in Nashville, Jack Black revealed that the band had teamed up with rock legend Jack White. Now the band have released a vlog detailing just how the collaboration came about.

The stunningly titled ‘Jack Gray’ follows Tenacious D during the Nashville leg of their tour, including a visit to Jack White’s home studio and the Third Man Records headquarters.

“We’re heading over to Jack White’s house to record a single,” Black shares in the video. “Me and Gass have been working on a jam—it’s not quite done, but I think that’s where Jack White comes in and helps us pull it over the finish line. This is a legendary collaboration.”

The video also features footage of Tenacious D’s cover of The White Stripes’ classic hit ‘Seven Nation Army’. Check it out below.

There’s no word yet as to when we can expect the collaborative track to drop, or what the song will entail, but we’re chomping at the bit with anticipation.

This isn’t the first left-field collaboration Jack White has worked on. White has recently teamed up with names varied as Stephen Colbert, the Insane Clown Posse, Courtney Barnett and of course, Beyoncé.

Last month, Josh Homee of Queens Of The Stone Age fame joined The Saboteurs on stage during their Los Angeles show. The rock legends made their way through a special encore performance of The Saboteurs classic ‘Blue Veins’ from their 2006 record, Broken Boy Soldiers. You can revisit the magic here.
