One of the biggest pop outfits of the 2000’s, the Black Eyed Peas, have released a new song and announced their first album in seven years. ‘Masters of The Sun’ is due out October 12th via Interscope, led by latest single ‘Big Love‘.

Big Love broaches topics of gun violence, police violence, social media disconnection, race relations in America, the rise of the alt-right and our current political uncertainty, while reminding the world of the importance and power of love and hope. Written by The Black Eyed Peas and produced by will.i.am, the song is a spiritual successor to the group’s multi-platinum global smash hit “Where Is The Love?” and follows a string of politically charged songs.

The group are now comprised of the three founding members — will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo. Longtime member Fergie’s departure was confirmed in February of this year, bringing the band back to their original lineup.

The group have been working on other projects behind the scenes. Their their first graphic novel, Masters of the Sun: The Zombie Chronicles was distributed by iconic comic book publishers Marvel Comics earlier this year. The novel is based on an original idea by will.i.am, and is accompanied by an augmented reality app.
