If you missed out on tickets to see music icons The Cure in Sydney this month, there’s good news, with the band announcing plans to livestream their fifth and final performance for Vivid LIVE.

Earlier this year, it was announced that The Cure would be making their return to Australia for the first time since Splendour In The Grass 2016.

Performing as part of the 2019 edition of Vivid LIVE, the gothic rock legends are slated to take up residency at the Sydney Opera House later this month for a series of highly-anticipated shows.

As expected, these dates quickly sold out, with numerous unsuccessful applicants trying their hand at getting tickets via the ballot system.

However, if you were one of the unlucky ones that missed out, you’ve just been given a second chance, with The Cure announcing a fifth and final show for their trip down under.

Taking place on Thursday, May 30th, tickets to this final show will only be available to people who entered the ballot for the previous dates. If you’re successful, you’ll be advised tomorrow morning from 9am, so it would be smart to grab those tickets while you can.

However, if you’ve missed out on tickets, aren’t in Sydney, or don’t live in Australia, then there’s even more good news, with this new show set to be livestreamed around the world.

In related news, Robert Smith recently explained that while he’s “still doom and gloom” The Cure’s new record is undoubtedly going to “delight” hardcore fans of the band.

“It’s so dark. It’s incredibly intense,” he explained. “And I’ve waited 10 years to do something that means something. It’s going to work really well.”

“I’m not sure how much of it we’ll play this summer at festivals. It’s not really festival music. The songs are like 10 minutes, 12 minutes long. We recorded 19 songs. So I have no idea what to do now.”

“The others are saying, ‘Triple album!’ I’m saying, no let’s not,” he continued. “I’ll pick six or maybe eight songs and do like a single album.”

“But I think it will delight our hardcore fans. And probably really, really infuriate everyone else. At my age, I’m still doom and gloom.”
