Grammy-award winning act The Raconteurs have today announced their debut Australian tour. The band, comprised of Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, will play two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

These headline shows mark the bands’ debut appearance in Australia, and coincide with their Bluesfest appearance. The band released their seminal debut record Consolers of the Lonely in 2008. Back in November, it was announced that the band were in the midst of working on their first new record in over a decade. The as-yet-untitled album is set to drop this year.

Upon the announcement that The Raconteurs would be performing at Bluesfest, festival director Peter Noble shared: “The members include Jack White, who is someone I have wanted to present at Bluesfest for a very long time. In fact, this began as a Jack White headline performance, but literally morphed into The Saboteurs when the guys decided to get back together again after 10 years, and Bluesfest has the ONLY announced show in the world currently.”

Last month, the band announced that they would be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Consolers of the Lonely, by releasing a special reissue package through the Third Man Vault subscription series.
