We’ve seen more than our share of sync videos here at the Tone Deaf offices. They get sent to us on a regular basis and for the most part, they’re okay. The sync is never particularly impressive and the song and video don’t quite hit the mark to be funny or ironic.
However, video editor and Las Vegas native Robert Jones’ recent masterpiece is a horse of a different colour. Purple, green, red, and yellow, to be precise. He’s done a superb sync of Die Antwoord’s ‘I Fink U Freeky’ and footage from children’s TV staple Teletubbies.
As you can see below, Jones has manipulated Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po into rapping along with the rapid-fire lyrics of Ninja and Yolandi Visser and their 2012 rap-rave mega-tune and it looks unsettlingly as though they were always meant to be.
It’s probably less disturbing than that Teletubbies Joy Divison mashup from a few months back, but there’s something oddly chilling when you see one of the colourful children’s characters mouth the words, “We gonna have a nice time, kids”.
