Hip Hop Karaoke

Why? Every had the ache to be on stage? Do you have that ’90s hip hop gem you can spit the lyrics to at a rapid fire pace? Well here’s your chance to get as close as you possibly will to achieving rap stardom. Hip Hop Karaoke is turning 2 years old and to celebrate they’re throwing a party at Boney this Thursday. Pop in for sign up between 9pm and 10pm then get prepped to slay on stage. Whether you’re participating or just simply watching – it’s a ridiculous amount of fun.

Why? Local rockers Twin Fires have taken made a name for themselves by crafting their love of the delicious American South and blended it with the scorching sounds of Aussie rock. They’ll be playing a free show this Friday so if you like a li’ bit ‘o fun get on it.

The Meeting Tree

Where? Cats Rocket Bar & Rooftop, 142 Hindley St, Adelaide
When? 9pm, Friday 8th April
Why? Off the back of the smash hit singles like ‘I Pay My Tax, I Hate Myself’ and ‘R U A Cop?’, The Meeting Tree aka Joyride and Raph are coming back to Cats again in support of their forthcoming single ‘Life Is Long: Slow Down’! Still on their mission to #legaliseuppers, the tour’s been suitably titled ‘Some Gronks Are Cops’. If you don’t know these guys it’s about time you got familiar.

Asylum Sis†ers

When? 8pm, Saturday 9th April
Why? Melbourne electronic/ goth/ new wave/ everything in between duo Asylum Sis†ers will be taking over the Grace Darling Basement this weekend to celebrate the official launch of their second EP A Faith Called You. Supporting the duo will be the very talented Ok Sure and Hospital.

Alwyn Lewis

When? 8pm, Wednesday 6th April
Why? After the release of his first full length record Class Destiny earlier in the year, Alwyn’s brand of R&VB slow jams debuts with a super fresh LIVE BAND. Also on the line up will be Natalie Mae, Phocal and Bahasa. If you ccan think of a better way to spend a Wednesday night we’d like to hear it.

Skyscraper Stan

Local legends SSATCF (Skyscraper Stan & the Comission Flats) are wrapping up their national tour with a hometown show at the institution that is Cherry Bar. With support from fellow legends The Bon Scotts and Tommy Castles it’s gonna be a corkerKick off the weekend right, go on – you deserve it.
