Lowtide

Why? If you’re a Melbournian and you haven’t seen Lowtide yet, you’re seriously missing out, the four piece are without a doubt one of the best shoegae/ fuzz pop bands Australia has ever produced. They’re playing a very special show this Saturday night at Northcote Social to celebrate the release of the new stellar Julia/Spring 7″, and they’re bringing along mates Parading and The Shifters for the ride. If you’re free on Saturday- head along you won’t regret it.

Moses Gunn Collective

Why? Brisy psych rockers Moses Gunn Collective recently unleashed their killer debut album Mercy Mountain. To help celebrate they’re touring the country which includes a stoop off at The Brightside in their hometown of Brissy. Alongside garage mates BLACK ZEROS and Donny Love they’ll be throwing a killer party you won’t wanna miss.

Chaos Divine + Alithia

Why? Perth progressive heavyweights Chaos Divine, will be making their first east coast appearance since the launch of their critically acclaimed album ‘Colliding Skies’, with a huge headline show at The Factory Floor on Friday August 28. With three studio albums, national and international tours and countless live performances under their belt, Chaos Divine have been building a force to be reckoned with among the national heavy music scene and making waves abroad. If you’re a heavy music fan you’ve gotta see these guys play with fellow legends Alithia.

Why? One of Brisbane’s most exciting new trios 100% are currently on a bit of a national tour which includes a few cheeky Melbourne shows this weekend. We recommend catching them on Saturday at one of our fave venues The Catfish, as they’ll be accompanied by UK noise talents YAWS as well as dark electronic champions Vacuum and punks Drug Sweat.

JAALA + Doctopus
Where? The Bird, 181 William St, Northbridge, Perth

Why? Set to be a night of serious sonic variation JAALA, Doctopus and Hideous Sun Demon all take the stage at The Bird for a killer Thursday night set where experimental bedroom punk meets jazzy neo-soul vs psych pop – something for pretty music every music lover. Go on, kick off your weekend a day early.

Charlie Monsoon + Pretty City
Where? The Hotel Metro, 46 Grote St, Adelaide
When? 8pm, Friday 28th August
Why? One of Melbourne favourite rockers Pretty City heads over to Adelaide in a for the first leg of interstate show swaps with Adelaide rising power fuzz rockers Charlie Monsoon. Then the Petty City team lead the way back to Melbourne next weekend to host Charlie Monsoon at Penny Black in a week of power rock and road trips. Catch the first leg this weekend at The Metro!

Nico Ghost
Where? Cant Say, Vault 8, Banana Alley, Melbourne

Why? One of our fave new rappers Nico Ghost has been making his mark with his diverse style and take on the local rap scene. His latest EP Kaishi absolutely slayed and live he’s been gathering quite a reputation. He’ll be performing a set at Cant Say this Saturday alongside DJ Tranter, Glass Mirrors, headstone and more.
