Tool fans rejoice! Frontman Maynard James Keenan has confirmed that the group have finished recording their new album and it’s now being mastered. It looks like he wasn’t lying when he said we would be getting new music from Tool in 2019.
For over a decade fans have been waiting not so patiently for a new album from Tool, and whilst the band is notorious for being meticulous with their work and recordings, it’s unlikely that mixing the album will take an entire year.

Taking to twitter, Keenan updated fans telling them vocals for the upcoming album were complete and it the album was in the “long process of mixing”. He also revealed that he’s working on new music with his other project Puscifier.

Tool will be hitting the road for a massive string of shows across America and Europe starting in May, which hopefully means we’ll at least get a taste of the album by then. Last year members of the group teamed up with Primus and members of Mastodon to cover a Peter Gabriel classic and a video of the band recording music was leaked. Check out Tool’s most recent track below.
