Indie Pop songstress Lincoln has just released her debut EP Visions Of A Fading Light. Haunting and beautiful, the EP sees the solo artist blend piano driven melodies with industrial/electronic sounds and sprinkles of classical cello throughout.
Lincoln herself is a paradox. Working as an emergency nurse in the daylight hours, she is calm and careful – mending wounds, broken bodies and remaining collected amidst the chaos, but by night Lincoln sits in a dimly lit apartment where she crafts dark, brooding and passionate tales of lust, death and loss. To celebrate the release of Visions Of A Fading Light, the talented songwriter has given us a track by track rundown on the EP.
Undone
“The relationship between love and lust. The emotional consequence of physical intimacy with someone incredible.”
Fading Light
“This is about Death. About searching and longing for that person and the feeling of only half existing now that they are gone. It explores the fear that as time goes on their soul and memory will fade. It was based on a poem written by my dad shortly after my mum passed away.”
Release
“Re-invention after escaping an emotionally abusive relationship.”
Into White
“This is about my mum and her final transition and journey between life and death.”

Better
“Some loser guy hurt me and chose someone else over me. So I wrote a song or two about him. This was the nice, sweet, censored version.”
