Travis Barker has shared that he is working on a new song with ‘Old Town Road’ rapper Lil Nas X.

In a recent interview with iHeart Radio, Barker revealed that he teamed up with the viral rapper on a new song set to feature on Lil Nas X debut EP.

“I have a song with Lil Nas X that’s going to be on his EP,” he shared. “He came to the studio and I played a couple [of] beats that I thought would be stuff he was into, then I played something [by] accident where he stopped and was like, ‘What is that? I’ve got to have that.’”

Barker added that the part that Lil Nas decided to incorporate in his track was initially written for the forthcoming blink record, adding “It was actually an idea I had for the Blink album.”

blink-182 are currently gearing up to release their eighth studio album. The as-yet-untitled record will be the bands first since 2016’s California. Fans have already had a taste of what to expect with lead single ‘Blame It On My Youth.’

Earlier this year, both Barker and blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus revealed that the band were harking back to their seminal Untitled record with this new release.

“I feel like this is the closest we’ve come to something like [2003’s] Blink-182 since that album,” Barker shared. which is one of my favorite Blink albums by far.”

Hoppus further echoed this statement, confirming that blink “want to do with our band what we did in 2003 with Untitled. Where we take our foundations and go off in completely weird directions.”

In the lead up to the blink release, Barker has been dropping collaborations left, right and centre. Back in February, Barker released the track ’11 Minutes’ with rising punk Yungblud and pop sensation Halsey. Last week, Barker and Yungblud collaborated again on Machine Gun Kelly’s track ‘I Think I’m OKAY’.
