As usual, it’s been a pretty big week for music on triple j, with some of the finest local and international acts getting some pretty solid airplay. But just what were listeners loving the most this week? What were the tunes that dominated the airwaves, and who were the artists that now have heaps of new fans after plenty of exposure on triple j?

20. The Delta Riggs

The Delta Riggs are gearing up to release their fourth album soon, and to celebrate, they’ve released their latest single ‘Fake That’. Currently getting plenty of airplay on triple j, it’s the station’s 13th most-played track this week.

19. Matt Corby

Matt Corby has recently dropped his newest song, ‘No Ordinary Life’, and it’s a much-welcome return for the Aussie indie legend. Described as being ‘Willy Wonka-esque’, the track has been getting plenty of airtime, being ranked as last week’s seventh most-played song.

18. Stand Atlantic

Sydney trio Stand Atlantic have been ticking all the boxes lately, releasing brilliant pop-punk tunes that have been resonating with their rapidly-growing fanbase. With their single ‘Lavender Bones’ serving as this week’s eleventh most-played track, you can be sure you’ll be hearing plenty more from these folks in the future.

17. Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon dropped their newest song, ‘Mantra’, recently, and fans have been going wild over the group’s return. With their new album, amo, set to drop in January and an Australian tour also on the way, the group currently have this week’s tenth most-played track, and you can expect to only see them go higher.

16. LPX

Lizzy Plapinger rose to fame as the lead vocalist of MS MR, but in recent times she’s become better known as LPX. Having released her debut EP earlier this year, LPX has just unleashed a new single, ‘Might Not Make It Home’. Currently this week’s twelfth most-played track, this one is a stunning track that’s resonating with listeners all over.

15. Bishop Briggs

Bishop Briggs’ debut album, Church Of Scars, was only released back in April, but that hasn’t stopped this stunning musician from delivering the goods once again. With new single ‘Baby’ currently this week’s eighth most-played track, you can be sure you’ll be hearing plenty more of Bishop Briggs in the coming weeks.

14. Nothing But Thieves

triple j listeners love a bit of Nothing But Thieves, so with news that the group have got a brand new EP due for this October, it’s understandable that we’ve been hearing a bit more from the group. With the EP’s lead single, ‘Forever & Ever More’, doing the rounds lately, it’s managed to be named this week’s seventh most-played tune.

13. Disclosure

Ever since Disclosure started teasing their new album, they’ve been delivering plenty of bangers. With a solid six singles being released over the last few months, listeners have been spoilt for choice lately. While we’re still waiting to get our hands on the new album, we’re happy just playing their vast array of singles on repeat.

12. GLADES

GLADES have been blowing up over the last year, seeing massive success thanks to their wide array of brilliant tunes. With ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ currently serving as this week’s fourth most-played track, you can expect to hear even more of GLADES in the future!

11. Wafia

Everything we’ve ever heard from Wafia has turned out to be a piece of pure perfection, and her latest track is no exception. Titled ‘I’m Good’, it’s not only the third most-played track on triple j this week, but another sign of the brilliance still to come from this stunning muso.

10. The Wombats

One of Australia’s most beloved bands, The Wombats, are already on their way back to play some shows for us later in the year, but they’ll have some new tunes under the belt as well. Having recently announced an expanded edition of their last album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, the band’s latest single, ‘BEE-STING’, is currently this week’s sixth most-played track.

9. RÜFÜS DU SOL

Having recently changed their name to RÜFÜS DU SOL for good, the trio have been gearing up to release their upcoming record, SOLACE. While we’ve already heard a handful of new tracks from the record, newest single ‘Underwater’ has proven to be another winner for the group, becoming this week’s ninth most-played track.

8. Broods

It’s been a couple of years since we last heard new music from New Zealand’s brother-and-sister duo Broods, but that hasn’t stopped the group from putting together some of the finest tunes you’ll hear all year. With their new record, Don’t Feed the Pop Monster, on its way in early 2019, lead single ‘Peach’ has been doing the rounds enough to be this week’s second most-played track.

7. Carmouflage Rose

Carmouflage Rose is already one of the most exciting young artists on the Aussie music scene, but after a huge Like A Version performance last week that saw him cover a Kanye West classic, and stunning single ‘Let Me Down’ doing the rounds, this Brisbane rapper is well on the way to superstardom.

6. San Cisco

San Cisco are currently in the middle of a huge tour with Ball Park Music and Ruby Fields, so they decided to give fans a little something extra to scream out from the crowd. Titled ‘When I Dream’, this single is on track to be a big one, currently serving as this week’s most-played tune.

5. Tash Sultana

It’s been a long time coming, but Tash Sultana recently released her long-awaited debut album, Flow State, and fans have loved it. Having served as triple j’s feature album, listeners were treated to plenty of previews of this stunning full-length ahead of its release, and it clearly resonated with music lovers around the world, with ‘Free Mind’ currently this week’s fifth most-played track.

4. Skegss

Skegss released their long-awaited debut record My Own Mess on Friday, with triple j giving it the feature album treatment all of last week. Understandably, fans have been loving this absolute belter of a release, with tracks ‘Smogged Out’ and ‘Up In The Clouds’ scoring endless amounts of love from their dedicated fans.

3. Mac Miller

Mac Miller was easily one of the year’s most beloved artists thanks to the release of his latest album, Swimming, but his untimely passing over the weekend has now resulted in an outpouring of grief from his devoted fans. Understandably, tracks like ‘What’s The Use?’ and ‘Self Care’ have been doing the rounds again lately, as legions of music fans pay tribute to a musician whose life came to an end far too prematurely.

2. Vance Joy

Vance Joy has had an amazing year, having released his second album, Nation Of Two, touring the world, and getting ready to kick off an Aussie tour. With his track ‘One Of These Days’ recently serving as one of the most-played tracks on the station, fans have been loving this amazing musician and the great work he does.

1. Jungle

It’s been over four years since Jungle released their stunning debut album, so the group figured it was about time to make a long-awaited return. With their new album, For Ever, recently serving as triple j’s feature album, fans have been hearing more and more of the English collective’s new record and absolutely loving it.
