If you’re a Troye Sivan fan living in Adelaide, chances are September 18 has been in your diary for ages. Troye is heading to Radelaide for one night only.
The best part? He wants you to get in on the action by coming dressed in theme.
Drawing inspo from his absolute BANGER, ‘Heaven’, the theme is Heaven & Hell. Ok, wait before y’all just go b-lining for Spotlight to buy that glitter glue, we’re going to give you some ideas…
HEAVEN
You don’t need to lose a piece of yourself to get into this theme (amirite). Heaps of people go for hell costume ideas with this kind of a theme (we stan), so you can definitely make waves by rocking a heavenly look at the concert.
Angel costume is an obvious choice, but putting your own spin on this classic keeps it fresh. Who doesn’t love a retro angel or a rock angel?
If in doubt, glitter is 110% the way to go (when is it not?). Glow stick halos are also on fleek at gigs. You can definitely expand this to the rest of your outfit by glow sticking it up in them angel wings.

There are also heaps of DIY options for this theme. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, below is a video on how to make some top qual angel wings for cheap. Fake beards are also a great accessory (that’s a sentence I never thought I’d write) to get all saintly. And don’t forget Youtube makeup tutorials!! Truly a girl’s (or guy’s) best friend. This one is perf.
How to make some DIY top qual angel wings:
HELL
Sometimes you just can’t go wrong with the classics – and who doesn’t love a cheeky devil costume? You can get into it however much you want – horns and pitchfork are easy accessories to go with your outfit, or you can totally rock a full devil look with face paint and all.
If that sounds like a lot, fire up by adding some flames to your look instead. Red sharpie on denim keeps it grunge-y, or try some temporary tattoos.
Red or black contact lenses are a mood, plus they’re impressive, but also a pretty low key way to get into the theme.
You can definitely go a bit more outside of the box too – we love pretty much any monster for this theme. Your best bet to stand out is probably to go as something topical.
Think Pennywise from the It movies, the Demogorgon from Stranger Things or Chucky from the Child’s Play remake.
Other ideas to consider? Hell’s Angels bikies, Hellboy or Gordon Ramsay from Hell’s Kitchen are all on brand, but a bit more left of centre. If in doubt, reds and blacks are your colour palette, so get creative!
MIX IT UP…
Sometimes the best ideas come when you take a loose interpretation of the theme, so you could defs team up with a partner to redefine what heaven and hell are.
In general, going as two opposites or rivals works, which really lets you get creative. Cops and robbers, heroes and villains, Harry Potter and Voldemort, Sharpay and Gabriella, Liam Hemsworth and Miley, Queensland and New South Wales, Donald Trump and literally anyone, Angela Anaconda and Nanette Manoir, Regina George and Cady Heron… the list goes on and on.
You could even add in some of the accessories from above to highlight these different pairs (Sharpay with devil horns would be a MOMENT).
We’ll see you at the show xx
