The Tumbleweed Australian Tour 2013 has been announced following the release of the band’s first new album in an age today.
Sounds From The Other Side is the new record from the seminal Aussie rockers is out today via Shock Records. To mark the album’s launch, the band have announced their Live From The Other Side national tour and are set to rock out at a town near you!
Heralding a return to that quintessential Tumbleweed sound, the album marks the first time in 15 years the original band line up have recorded together. ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher worked on their famous breakthrough LP Galactaphonic (1995) and legendary single ‘Daddy Long Legs’, and has teamed up with them again to create another trademark Tumbleweed stomper with Sounds From The Other Side.
Tumbleweed were a stalwart of Australia’s music scene in the 90s – touring relentlessly, releasing four albums, joining the likes of the Lemonheads and Mudhoney on the road, in addition to supporting Nirvana on their infamous and only Australian tour in 1992. After disbanding in 1995, the band reunited at Homebake 14 years later and won over a whole new legion of fans with performances at the Big Day Out and the Meredith Music Festival.
The band are set to launch Sounds From The Other Side at a special Sydney show at the Annandale tomorrow evening, Saturday September 28.
