It isn’t a Kanye West concert without a rant, and fans in Melbourne last night were not disappointed.

Recent shows have kept his trademark rants to a minimum, using a lengthy version of ‘Runaway’ that allows West to indulge in everything from an auto-tuned monologue to an outright verbal attack.

And while fans in Adelaide and Perth received lectures about everything from creativity to the launch of his new Yeezus sneakers, Kanye couldn’t resist the opportunity to hit out at an unnamed colleague in response to a mystery tweet at his first show in Melbourne.

“Tonight I ain’t gonna say your name and shit,” West abruptly says during the middle of the concert according to Music Feeds.  “But I better see those emails in the morning apologising and shit. I know you all want to know who I’m talking about, but they know exactly who I’m talking about.”

“But you got them emails from both publicists, and you know exactly who I’m talking about,” he then added to cheers from the crowd. “And you retweeted that bullshit and you know exactly who I’m talking about.”

“So I’m tell you tonight. We got two shows, so we better get on the phone tomorrow morning.” West then launched into a performance of his song Runaway with the notorious line “Let’s have a toast to all the douchebags”.

It remains unclear who exactly has attracted the ire of West, but the Yeezus tour is rolling on with another show in Melbourne tonight all may yet to be revealed.

Melbourne has also struck lucky off stage with the Yeezus tour, with West opening up a surprise pop-up shop on Chapel st.

Part art gallery, part fashion boutique, part merch desk; the store is selling clothing designed by California-based artist Wes Lang, who uses the imagery featuring skeletons, undead Indian chiefs and controversially the Confederate flag based styles presented in a kind of minimalist Americana-influenced atmosphere.

You can watch the rant below.
