We should have listened to Tom Delonge. Over the weekend, New York Times published a feature, revealing that between 2014 and 2015, Navy pilots reported “almost daily” sightings of unidentified flying objects.

One of the objects resembled “a spinning top moving against the wind,” and was sighted almost daily between winter 2014 to March 2015. The pilots initially believed these objects to be part of a highly classified drone testing program. Though one pilot has claimed to have witnessed a near collision with an object that flew past his cockpit, describing it as “a sphere encasing a cube.”

An official explanation addressing the sightings is yet to be released. It is worth noting that nobody in the Defense Department has acknowledged that the sightings are extraterrestrial. Experts have emphasized that most sightings can be backed up with an “earthly” explanation. If I’ve learnt anything from the hours of my life I spent slogging through The X Files, it’s to not trust the government. The truth is out there people.

The truth will come out, and we sincerely pray that Tom Delonge is the one to enlighten us. Back in March, Delonge announced that he was working on a TV show, Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation. The six-part History Channel documentary worked to expose “new evidence on UFOs.” It features interviews with “former Government Officials disclos[ing] new information in an effort to change Government Policy about the potential threats UFOs pose to U.S. National Security.”

The documentary is set to air this Friday.
