Vampire Weekend have finally revealed the release date for their upcoming fourth album, sharing a handful of new singles in the process.

For a few years now, fans of Vampire Weekend have been eagerly awaiting the band’s fourth album. The follow-up to 2013’s Modern Vampires Of The City, the band have been teasing us with new information for quite some time.

Back in January, we finally received some new information about the new album, with the group revealing it would be out within a few months, and that its title initials are FOTB.

Consisting of 18 songs and running for roughly an hour, the group teased fans with an ambient two-hour guitar loop before dropping ‘Harmony Hall’ and ‘2021’, their first new music in six years.

Now, keeping with their promise to release two new songs each month, the group have unleashed two new tracks, in addition to some interesting info about when we’ll be getting new record.

Releasing the tunes ‘Sunflower’ and ‘Big Blue’, Vampire Weekend have today officially announced that their new record, Father Of The Bride, will be released on May 3rd.

In a post on Instagram, Ezra Koenig noted that ‘Sunflower’ is an important step for the group, becoming their first collaborative song, with The Internet’s ‘Steve Lacy guesting on the tune.

“He randomly tweeted at me a few years ago saying we should collaborate. He was right!” Koenig began. “‘Sunflower’ is the first song ever released by VW with a feature and I’m glad it’s Steve.”

“He told me the first song he ever learned on guitar was ‘A-Punk’ which is hilarious cuz he is now way better at guitar than me.”

Likewise, Ezra Koenig also confirmed that Steve Lacy will be making an appearance in the upcoming video for ‘Sunflower’, which features Jonah Hill in the director’s chair.

While the band also dropped the song ‘Big Blue’, it appears that we still have a handful of new tracks on the way to tide us over until Father Of The Bride arrives at the start of May. Check out the record’s artwork below.
