RockWiz has a knack for putting together awesome live musical collaborations. You may recall their Stones cover from a few years back featuring Rebecca Barnard, Deborah Conway, Ella Hooper, Dave Larkin, Tim Rogers, and Tex Perkins.
Most recently, the SBS music-themed quiz show managed to corral folk singer-songwriter Josh Pyke, You Am I frontman Tim Rodgers, and ARIA Award winner Sarah Blasko to perform an incredible cover of the David Bowie classic ‘Young Americans’.
Blasko had previously performed a moving and heart-wrenching tribute to the late music icon during triple j’s Like A Version, covering what is arguably Bowie’s signature tune, ‘Life On Mars’, just a few days after his death and garnering widespread praise.
With help from expert vocalists Vika and Linda Bull and of course the RocKwiz Orkestra, the performance of ‘Young Americans’ closed out a special RocKwiz Salutes The Legends of the UK episode of the show. Check it out in all its glory below.
