Nothing in this world brings me greater happiness than watching Morrissey flop. I can’t explain why. I love The Smiths, I like a bit of his solo output — so I thought that witnessing his colossal fall from grace would evoke feelings of sadness. It has, however, sparked nothing but joy watching the smarmy prick ruin his legacy in the drop of a hat. So strap yourself in for the next instalment of Morrissey royally cooking it.
As Exclaim! report, during Morrissey’s show in Portland earlier this week he was greeted by a swarm of protestors. The protesters came armed with signs that read “BIGMOUTH INDEED” and a cancelled-out For Britain logo. Once Morrissey noticed the protestors milling about, he stopped playing mid-set and demanded that they leave.
“Let’s be quite frank. When you or the sign are removed, I will continue. Otherwise, get out. Now.”
He continued to yell “Go! Goodbye! We don’t need you!”. Eventually, the protestors felt like their work was done and left with a bow.
This royal temper tantrum was captured by a punter at the concert. You can relish in all its glory below.
Watch: Morrissey throw protestors out of the venue
Since the incident took place, Morrissey’s scheduled concert at WaMu Theatre in Seattle has been cancelled. It remains unclear as to whether the cancellation was sparked by the Portland proceedings.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, Morrissey will not be able to perform tonight’s concert scheduled in Seattle, Washington,” a statement on the promoter’s website shares. “Refunds will come from your point of purchase. The Morrissey/Interpol tour will resume as scheduled in San Francisco on Thursday.”
This comes on the heels of news that tickets for Morrissey’s US run were nothing short of pitiful. Resale tickets for the tour were being flogged for as low as $7. It’s what he deserves.
