Paul McCartney has delighted fans by crossing a road, proving that Beatlemania has completely gotten out of hand.
Granted, he was crossing the zebra crossing made famous on the cover of Abbey Road, The Beatles’ highest-selling album, so it was perhaps worth all the hoopla.
Funnily enough, this wasn’t merely a promotional stunt; McCartney was actually using the crossing for its intended purpose: to duck across to Abbey Road Studios, where he was performing a surprise show in support of his forthcoming album, Egypt Station (which is an amazing name for a record.)
