This month saw psychedelic masters Tame Impala unleash their first new single in four years, ‘Patience’. A heavenly bongo-driven track which saw the Perth prodigies on top form.

Saturday saw Tame Impala make their debut SNL appearance. The band debuted ‘Patience’ for the first time, as well as surprising fans with a new, equally delicious track ‘Borderline.’

Aussie fans, we’re not endorsing the use of a VPN blocker, but if you’re practising the delicate art of consuming media blocked in your territory check out footage from both performances below. Otherwise, you can listen to an audio recording of the track here.

I think it’s safe to assume that both tracks will feature on Tame Impala’s forthcoming fourth album. The as-yet-untitled record is the band’s first full-length release since 2015’s Currents.

Since the release of Currents, Kevin Parker has released collaborative tracks with Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Theophilus London and more.

The band are yet to announce when we can expect the new album to drop. But it’s worth noting that they will be making their career-defining headlining appearance at Coachella on April 13. Perhaps fans can anticipate a surprise album release.

Tame Impala are gearing up to embark on a massive European tour with a Splendour In The Grass shaped hole in the dates. We smell a headlining slot. Check out their upcoming tour dates below.
