Direct from New York City, James Chance & the Contortions are in the country for the very first time.

Best known for his work in such bands as Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, James Chance & the Contortions and James White & the Blacks as well as collaborations with Lydia Lunch and Blondie, James Chance was a key figure in the quick-flash but potent No Wave movement of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

He brings his sonic punch and bone-rattling kinetic rhythms to Australia January 2016 with a newly assembled Contortions featuring members of The Drones and Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes.

To celebrate his visit, we’re giving readers the chance to score a double pass to his show  SUN. 17TH JAN.: NEWTOWN SOCIAL CLUB w/ Holy Balm.
