Fresh from weeks of Byron Bay farmhouse solitude and fresh from recording their soon to be released new album.
Tijuana Cartel are hitting the road with a new show, some new beats and their tried and tested dance-floor thumping tunes.
After 10 years on the road, Tijuana Cartel’s Carey O’Sullivan and Paul George decided to slow down and appreciate where they’ve come from and channel that energy into whatever creative endeavour they were next to embark on. That creative endeavour became their latest LP 24 Bit Guitar Orchestra.
As the corner stone of Australia’s ‘east meets west’ electronic scene, Tijuana Cartel have a knack for blending layers of rich, intricate atmospheric soundscapes with pounding bass and luscious vocals to form an electronic beats tapestry that will cut through to your very soul.
Simply, there isn’t another band doing what they do. Having spent the last decade mixing in influences that haven’t been fused in the past, their penchant is for Middle Eastern scales, beats that get a floor moving and a general Psychedelic approach in song structure and ethos. Not married to one genre or another, they happily change direction in search of new flavors and inspiration, whenever the moment takes them there.
The guys will be two huge shows in early May, one at Howler at one At Oxford Art Factory, and to celebrate, Tone Deaf are giving readers the opportunity to score a double pass to the show of their choice. Enter your details below for a chance to win!
