Melbourne based Go-Go Sapien are not your average band. Influenced by post punk, psych-rock, surf music and sci-fi film scores and having shared stages with The Soundtrack Of Our Lives (Sweden), Kim Salmon & The Surrealists, Even and Dave Graney & The Lurid Mist they’re now poised to release their sophomore album and – look out! – have made a movie to go with it.
This Body Is Wrong For Us, an eleven track “interplanetary sonic blast” will be launched November 4 at The Evelyn and included in the striking album packaging is your own copy of the accompanying DVD. Starring a stellar cast of Melbourne musicians in character roles – Kim Salmon (pictured here as a shady-lookin’ policeman, it has to be said), Liz Stringer, Dave Graney and Linda Dacio for a start – the film delves into the band’s love of classic sci-fi, schlock horror B-movies and surrealist art cinema.
We went along to the film premiere and checked it out for you (read our review here) and now you can get your hands on a copy yourself: we’ve got 5 copies of the album/DVD as well as passes to the album launch, to be held at The Evelyn on November 4. Don’t miss out!
