Who do you think the most prolific artist of all time is? King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard? Frank Zappa? Buckethead? Well, it seems like we might have a new front-runner thanks to Young Thug, who claims he’s recorded over 15,000 songs in his career.

Kicking off his career back in 2011, 27-year-old rapper Young Thug is undoubtedly a rather prolific musician. With one compilation album, three EPs, and 18 mixtapes to his name, the rapper certainly isn’t work-shy, with a new interview revealing how hard he actually works.

Speaking to Interview Magazine recently, Young Thug sat down for a chat that discussed his time in the studio, and his excessive levels of productivity.

When asked how many songs he think he’s recorded over the years, Young Thug was was quick to respond with “15,000”, shocking the interviewer in the process.

“I just stay in there,” he responded. “I keep clothes in the studio. I slept there last night. To be honest, I hate traveling so much, because I’d rather be in the studio.”

“I’ve always felt different—from the beginning. I used to think that I saw things that other people didn’t see, that I could put things together in a way that the average person couldn’t.

Of course, if you’re also wondering how you can reach Young Thug levels of productivity, the rapper also offered up some words of advice to those who also believe they’re different.

“It’s simple: Keep going. Don’t ever give up,” he explained. “Some people say that just to say it, but I always stress it because it’s the truth and it really works.”

“Everybody will get a chance. Even if your chance is not right now, if you keep going, you will get your chance. So just keep going, keep going, keep going, and one day it will be your turn. And when that happens, you just have to take full advantage of your turn.”

While Young Thug’s two previously-planned trips to Australia didn’t quite work out, there’s no saying when the rapper might finally make his way down under. Who knows, by the time he he finally does, he might have another 10,000 tracks in the vault.
