Poison City Records legends Bench Press have been making quite a stir in their hometown of Melbourne of late, and with the release of their forthcoming record Not The Past, Can’t Be The Future that stir is going to be felt all the way to bloody Broome, and beyond.

Today, mere moments ahead of the album’s release, the band has shared a new track, ‘Dreaming Again,’

The track is a collision of the band’s devil may care attitude, with unmistakable song writing acumen. Coming in at under 3 minutes, the band waste no time getting to the point. Prepare to be hitting the ‘replay’ button in this one…several times over.

Those fortunate enough to have stumbled across their self-titled debut album will be pleased to know that for the follow up was built around the same structure of snarling aggression belted out at breakneck speed. But, this time, the band have packed their short, sharp bursts of post-punk with plenty of melody and structure.

Rest assured, it’s still an entirely untamed, shouty beast who calls no man sir.

Not The Past, Can’t Be The Future is out Friday, June 28 and will be on display at a venue near you soon after.
